Diagnostic X-Ray Procedures

X-ray procedures give health-care providers important information about what’s going on inside the body from broken bones to signs of cancer. Radiologists, specially trained doctors, “read” these images and send a report of their findings to your doctor.

X-ray images are produced by passing radiation through the body and recording the image on a digital receptor. The images are stored on a computer. The images and report are available to your physician via the internet.

Diagnostic x-ray procedures vary. The equipment and steps involved differ, depending on the procedure and part of the body being studied. Be sure to ask your physician if the procedure being requested requires any pre-procedure prep.

Allegan General Hospital’s Radiology department uses state-of-the-art equipment to capture images electronically. All Radiologic technologists are registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

AGH's Outpatient Services is located on the first floor of Allegan General Hospital. Outpatient X-rays are scheduled daily from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Inpatient X-rays are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For more information or to schedule a procedure, please call our Radiology department at (269) 686-4210.
