The Allegan General Hospital Foundation is teaming up with the Allegan County United Way, the Allegan County Community Foundation, Wings of Hope Hospice and the Perrigo Foundation to offer a free three part series on planned giving for the community.
Part one of the series titled “Making a Difference Through Creative and Thoughtful Estate Plans” will be held at Allegan General Hospital on Thursday, March 11 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Topics discussed will include an overview of Planned Giving including what it is, how it works and what can be accomplished now and for generations to come.
The guest speaker throughout the series will be Attorney Danielle Redmond Streed from the firm of Redmond, Redmond & Yokom. Her practice focuses on the area of Probate and Estate Administration, Medicaid Planning, Charitable Giving and Estate Planning. She can be heard every Tuesday at 7:55 a.m. on WKZO 590 AM for “Your Estate Matters,” a weekly feature about estate planning and charitable giving.
“This series is intended to ignite a community-wide conversation about charitable giving through a range of estate planning options, and the good that can be accomplished though innovation,” said Brent Larson, Executive Director of the AGH Foundation. “A real and lasting difference can happen through one person’s vision, a big heart, and planned giving. It happens all the time, big and small, from the gifts of Bill & Melinda Gates to improve children’s health, to a simple bequest from someone’s will or trust to start a new community scholarship program.”
Future sessions of this planned giving series will be held on Thursday, May 27 and Thursday, October 14. Individuals are asked to R.S.V.P. (one session at a time or for the entire series) by calling the AGH Foundation at (269) 686-4234 or sending an e-mail to brlar@aghosp.com.
