| Laughter is a contagious disease and very good medicine. Research shows that laughing is more than just a physical emotion; it is beneficial for both the mind and body.
Allegan General Hospital’s Spirit of Women program is hosting Laugh Your Heart Out, a Girls’ Night Out event at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26. “The goal of Laugh Your Heart Out is to show individuals how a sense of humor can improve health, nourish relationships, enhance creativity, relieve stress, and overall just enrich your quality of life,” said Jennifer Dentler, AGH Spirit of Women Coordinator.
The guest speaker is Kathleen Passanisi, who is an internationally recognized speaker, humorist, medical professional, and author. “There is as much comedy in life as tragedy, but we don't take advantage of it when we're bogged down in the daily grind,” said Passanisi.
The event will be held at Allegan High School’s Performing Arts Center (1560 N-M40, Allegan). The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. “Although this is a Spirit of Women event, it is open to both men and women, 18 and older,” said Dentler.
