Surgery Instructions | Scheduling Your Surgery
Allegan General Hospital provides surgical procedures to inpatients and outpatients on an elective, urgent and emergency basis. Our highly trained staff is dedicated to restoring and maintaining your health care needs before, during and after your surgery.
General Surgery: Disorders of the body not covered under a specialty, colon surgery, thyroid, ganglions, appendectomy, gallbladder, cancer, breast biopsy, mastectomy, carpal tunnel, skin defects, lumps and bumps. Orthopedic Surgery: Arthroscopic procedures on multiple joints, total joint replacements, bunions, fractures and muscular skeletal system.
Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgery: Tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, ear tubes and sinus surgery.
Ophthalmologic Surgery: Cataracts
Gynecological and Obstetrical Surgery: Disorders of the female reproductive system – hysterectomy (abdominal and vaginal), ablations of the uterus, c-sections, D & C, cancer, control bleeding disorders and bladder suspensions.
Podiatric Surgery: Disorders of the feet – bunions, correction of foot deformities and foot pain.
Surgeries at AGH are scheduled as:
Outpatient Surgery: you will be discharged from the hospital the same day your surgery is scheduled.
Inpatient Surgery: you will be admitted to a hospital room after your surgery.
Many operations that once required an overnight stay in the hospital can now be performed on an outpatient basis.
