Babysitting Classes Held in July and August

7/10/2017

Allegan General Hospital (AGH) is offering two more sessions of its popular Babysitting Training Class this summer. This one day class is designed for 12- to 15- year olds and prepares students for babysitting. Sessions will be offered on Thursday, July 27 and Wednesday, August 23. The class is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is held at AGH.

“Our goal is to teach participants the skills they need to know to be a safe and responsible babysitter,” said Jennifer Hamman, AGH’s Babysitting Class Instructor.

Topics covered in class include: infant and child CPR; infant and child first aid; dealing with challenging situations; keeping the children you babysit safe; nutrition; the business of babysitting; and more. At the completion of the class, each student will receive a completion card.

The cost of this course is $55, which includes materials and lunch. However, the Allegan General Hospital Foundation and Allegan Hospital Service League have generously offered to provide a $25 scholarship to each child registered for this class, bringing the cost down to only $30 per student.

Space is limited. Individuals can register online at allegangeneral.org/cpr or call AGH’s Community Events Line at (269) 686-4231.
